Orientation Held For Digitize Ghana NABCO Beneficiaries

The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has conducted an orientation for Greater Accra beneficiaries under the Digitize Ghana Module of the Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO).
The orientation, which took place on Monday, November 19, was focused on GIFEC mandate, summary of strategic plans, values, expected role of trainees and area of collaboration and partnership.
The Administrator of GIFEC, Kofi Asante, expressed optimism over the engagement of graduates to help GIFEC achieve its mandate of spreading Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) to various communities across the country.
Beneficiaries are to support operations of GIFEC projects such as Community Information Centres, School Connectivity, Digital Financial Inclusion, Smart Community Initiative, and Universal Access to Telephony, among others. Mr. Asante urged trainees whom he described as extension of the Ministry of Communications to uphold good values that are critical for productive effort.
“As nation builders, lets us pledge to work hard with other implementing agencies to move beyond rhetoric and take action to improve the quality of lives of Ghanaians” he stated.
NABCO is an initiative of government to address graduate unemployment using seven modules. Of such module is the ‘Digitize Ghana’ which is a cross-cutting module that provides a converging ICT solution to most of government programmes and initiatives.
These programmes include, the National Identification Scheme, Digital Addresses System, Land Title and Land Administration, Archival and Digitization at Registrar-Generals Department, Birth and Death Registry and Passport Application Centres.
Subsequent orientation for beneficiaries in the nine other regions will be held at various locations in the regions from Tuesday, 20th to Monday 26th November, 2018, across the country.
