GIFEC Embarks on Familiarization Visit to the ADC

Management of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) has embarked on a familiarization visit to the Accra Digital Centre, to get acquainted with operations of the centre.
The Accra Digital Centre is an agency under the Ministry of Communications, mandated to provide the required environment, infrastructure and services to facilitate the growth of ICT/BPO sector and accelerate technological innovation to augment the private sector’s role in providing relevant ICT solutions to various sectors of Ghana’s economy.
The purpose of the visit was for GIFEC management to establish areas of mutual interest and forge relevant partnerships for the achievement of individual mandates.
The team, led by the Administrator was hosted by Mr. David Antwi Ofori, Head of Operations at the ADC.
Places visited within the centre include the 311 Government Relations Centre, DocuPro Ltd and the Ghana Tech Lab.
At the 311 the team was welcomed by Mr. Kofi Asante (Centre Manager), who gave a brief of the centre and its operations. He highlighted the main objective of the centre being for the government to engage citizens, and for citizens to contribute to the governance process, in terms of policy making. In his briefing, he recounted that in spite of the original purpose of the establishment of the centre, it currently serves as a COVID19 information centre, due to the emergency nature of the pandemic.
DocuPro is an Information Technology Service Provider specializing in Biometric Identification Cards Supply & Printing, Document Management Solutions (DMS), Healthcare Document Management Solutions (HDMS) and Document Warehousing & Archival Solutions with a strong aspiration to finding and developing technology solutions for different clients with different Personal Identification Data Management, Document Preservation, and Archival as well as Data Capturing challenges.
Ghana Tech Lab is a World Bank and Ministry of Communications innovations initiative, that seeks to equip individuals and organisations with the necessary skills they require to increase their productivity. They provide a platform for digital innovations and provide programmes and curriculum to transform ideas into startups.
