Phase 2 of DTC Master Training Underway

The second phase of training for Master Trainers of the Digital Transformation Centres (DTC) initiative is underway at Kyebi, in the Eastern Region. The training forms part of a series of training under the DTC project.
The purpose of the Master Training is to equip instructors with relevant skills to subsequently provide training to ICT Teachers (trainers), Community ICT Managers, and other trainers in various rural communities across the country.
In all, there are 23 persons, which include all Zonal Managers of GIFEC, as well as selected NaBCo Trainees of the Digitize Ghana Model.
The ten-day training features Cisco Certified intermediary ICT courses in the following: Introduction to Cyber security, Cyber security Essentials, Networking Essentials and Introduction to Internet of Things. Other courses include IT Essentials, Get Connected, Python, C++ programming and Entrepreneurship.
The broader goal of the DTC initiative is to build an inclusive digital society where lack of digital skills will not be a barrier to participation in the digital economy.
Digital Transformation Centres (DTC) is digital literacy development initiative, which was formally launched during the ITU Telecom World in Budapest, Hungary, in September 2019. ITU is working with a global network of institutions, including GIFEC, to develop digital skills for citizens mainly at the basic and intermediate level.
And after the training it is very prudent to come down and train teachers managing ICT centers for the to also impart to younger ones
A key aspect of the project is for the Master trainers to train teachers and ICT centre managers to impart the knowledge to kids and persons in the informal sector as well.
Thank you for your contribution.
