GIFEC Staff Urged to Leverage Opportunities Within the ICT Space To Achieve Mandate

GIFEC Staff Urged to Leverage Opportunities Within the ICT Space To Achieve Mandate

News & Media

The Administrator of GIFEC, Mr. Prince Ofosu Sefah, has urged staff to leverage opportunities available in the ever-evolving Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry in order to ensure continuous relevance in the space.

He said this during his maiden interaction with staff of the organization, following his appointment into office. In his remarks, he emphasized the need for strong organizational structures, adherence to the Chain of Command as well as a deliberate effort to Equalization of Opportunities for all, as a means of ensuring optimal outcomes, especially, in regard to the delivery of GIFEC’s key projects and requisite follow-ups to ensure sustained investments.

Mr. Sefah entreated all staff to contribute their absolute best, research and brainstorm into new funding areas, where the organization can explore to find more resources for the accomplishment of GIFEC’s Mission of extending universal access to all persons for socio-economic development.

He accentuated the need for stronger partnerships and collaboration with both public and private Stakeholders, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review of GIFEC’s strategic objectives.

Touching on leadership, he acknowledged the enormous contributions made by the former Administrator, Mr. Abraham Kofi Asante in extending electronic communications and ICT to underserved and unserved communities, as required by our mandate. He also mentioned the need to organize a befitting farewell in his honour.

Having met with the Executive Committee and then with the Management Team, over each of the last five working days, Mr. Sefah had Staff doing self-introductions earlier in the meeting, culminating in a Question-and-Answer session. He touched on issues bordering on Human Resources, Strategy, Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation and Zonal Operations

In adherence to COVID19 protocols, the meeting took a hybrid of both face-to-face and virtual forms, with Zonal staff and staff working from home joining via Zoom.

Mr. Austin Baffoe, the Acting Deputy Administrator, in his remarks, assured the new Administrator of his personal and staff’s commitment and support, towards achieving the Vision and Mission of the organisation.

Mr. Faisal Issahaku Gbanjili, Acting Director of Administration and Human Resources, on behalf of Staff, expressed appreciation to the new Administrator and encouraged everyone to offer their utmost support to ensure the success of his tenure.

Mr. Prince Ofosu Sefah assumed Office as Administrator of GIFEC on Monday, August 9, 2021, and has since had series of meetings with Management and Staff, towards a successful transition into the role of the CEO of the Fund.
