PHILIPINE MAWUENYEGAH (Principal Internal Auditor)

Ms. Philipine Mawuenyegah is the Principal Internal Auditor and the head of the Internal Audit department of GIFEC.

As Principal Internal Auditor she assists the Board and Management to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance process through independent audits.

Ms. Mawuenyegah is a chartered accountant by profession. She holds an MBA (Accounting) Degree from the University of Ghana Business School (1997). She had earlier obtained a Bsc. Administration (Accounting) Degree, also from the University of Ghana Business School.

She has several years of experience, having previously worked for about thirteen years with the Ghana Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS). At CEPS she served in various capacities in both the internal audit and accounts departments, where she excelled and distinguished herself, rising to the rank of Senior Collector.

She has also participated in several seminars and workshops on Internal Audit and Internal Controls, risk management, Internal Audit and Corporate Governance, and public financial management among others.
