Smart Community Project

The aim of this project is to provide an affordable/free WiFi service to unserved or underserved communities across the country. The Smart Community is a base/access point for providing all other broadband services to those communities including but not limited to Digital for Inclusion (D4I), Cloud Content (eg; entertainment) etc.
The project is being piloted in four communities namely, Asumura, Asankragwa, Goaso and Berekum.

Digital for Inclusion (D4I) Project
This is an off-shoot intervention of the Smart Community Programme that seeks to provide digital access to and use of formal financial services by the unbanked and excluded as well as underserved populations. It delivers a payment and cash transfer platform which is interoperable on all mobile networks. Other services provided include international remittances, e-vending: cellular airtime top-up, bill payments among others.
