GIFEC Supports Sports and Recreation Ministry to Drive Digitalisation Ahead of World Cup

The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) on April 2, 2026, supported the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to enhance digital operations ahead of the upcoming World Cup. As part of its commitment to digital transformation, GIFEC donated high-speed laptops and projectors to improve office operations and strengthen the Ministry’s capacity.

The support will also aid in establishing a Digital Centre to streamline processes and communication. The Administrator of GIFEC, Mr. Tanko Rashid-Computer, reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to supporting the Ministry’s digitalisation agenda, stressing the importance of technology in improving planning and coordination ahead of the World Cup

Receiving the items on behalf of the Ministry, Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, Senior Technical Advisor to the Minister (Hon. Kofi Adams), expressed appreciation for the support, alongside Wonder Sitsofe Mandel, Personal Assistant to the Minister.

Also present were Ms. Francisca Adjei, Director of Corporate Affairs and Ms. Zulaiya Yakubu, Head of Training at GIFEC The initiative is to strengthen collaboration between GIFEC and the Ministry as Ghana prepares for the World Cup.
