GIFEC Welcomes New Deputy Administrator

Mrs. Eva Andoh-Poku has been appointed Deputy Administrator of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications. She replaces Mr. Austin Baffo, the former acting Deputy Administrator of the Fund.
During an introductory meeting with staff, Mr. Prince Sefah, Administrator of GIFEC indicated his pleasure to have Mrs. Andoh-Poku join the team and said that the purpose of the meeting was to introduce her to staff and let everyone know that she is an integral part of the new leadership of the fund.
He remarked that “We expect to work together to undertake the best strategy and tactics, through effective and efficient leadership, to achieve our objectives, optimally.”
He said that while leadership seeks to get the best structures working, it is important to ensure discipline, togetherness and hardwork.
He credited the achievements by his predecessors, indicating that “life is a continuum; we make progress, make mistakes and move on.” According to the Fund Administrator, the most important thing in life is to bequeath as much positive legacies as possible, since we only live for a relatively short time. He advised staff to “make our time count and do great things together.”
Madam Eva, in her remarks, expressed excitement about joining the team and promised to contribute her quota to complement the team’s efforts in achieving the Fund’s overall mandate of facilitating access to ICT to all persons for socio-economic development.
She voiced her gratitude to the Administrator, Management and the entire team for the warm welcome, adding that she believes in the importance of teamwork in achieving and producing more and going far, adding that “I am very honoured to be the Deputy Administrator and to be working with such a great man who has so much to offer. I would however say that it is not so much about the role, but about the goal. If you have all the roles but can’t make the goal, there would be no impact.”
Mrs. Andoh-Poku further stated that she is at GIFEC “to complement, and not to compete; and bring to bear skills acquired over the years”.
She ended by sharing her three pillars as guiding principles for success; teamwork, fairness and friendliness; and encouraged all to work together to achieve the great success.
Management and staff were also given the opportunity to share some kind words and welcome the new Deputy Administrator.
The Director of Finance, Mr. Henry Agyeman Boateng assured the New Deputy Administrator of his commitment, support and availability to working together to make her stay worthwhile and, to achieve her set objectives.
Alhaji Zakaria Osman Yahaya, Director of Operations also mentioned that the Operations team and the entire staff body is solidly behind her, promising to work together to ensure that the trust vested in her by the President and Minister, is realized.
Ag. Director of Administration and Human Resources, Alhaji Faisal Issahaku Gbanjili also entreated everyone to be each other’s keeper, and reiterated the need to complement each other. “We have to give our best to support leadership to deliver and achieve our set objectives.”
In his concluding comments, Mr. Prince Sefah emphasized his value on competence, passion and hard work, and entreated staff to work together to support management in achieving maximum results and assured of management’s commitment in ensuring that the necessary arrangements are put in place to motivate staff adequately.
