GIFEC RECEIVES BENCHMARK VISITS FROM ACROSS AFRICA
The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has become a model Universal Access and Service Fund in Africa, as its achievements has invited visits from Universal Access Agencies from Africa.
In 2019 GIFEC received was privileged to receive delegations from Universal Access Funds/ Services of four (4) countries, namely; Sierra Leone, Uganda, Liberia, and Malawi.
The purpose of these visits was to acquire practical knowledge on GIFEC’s implementation of universal access programmes in Ghana. GIFEC shared with all the delegations which visited on the inception of GIFEC and how it was operationalized, the regulatory tools and frameworks of GIFEC in place, types of projects and programs that benefit from the Fund, selection criteria and processing of projects; Identification of US Fund operators, Challenges encountered in the management of the fund Success stories since establishment, Stakeholder and Community Engagement process as well as visits to some project sites of GIFEC implemented us projects.
The delegations also visited project sites across the country to gain hands-on experience on how our projects are being implemented
